History

When you come to Burnside you will have the opportunity to study Humanities.  Humanities is made up of Geography, History, RE and Citizenship lessons. You will have four lessons every week giving you the chance to study a range of interesting and exiting topics. Two lessons will be Geography and you will have one of both History and   RE (Religious Education).

Humanities gives us the skills and knowledge needed to learn about our lives, our past and how our actions affect the world in which we live.

In History you will learn about important events and people from the past and look at how peoples lives have changed through time. You will also learn how to interpret historical sources and learn other life skills. In year 7 you will study:

• Historical skills
• The Roman Empire
• 1066 and the Norman conquest
• Medieval Britain
• Tudors - Henry VIII
• Tudor Crisis - Edward VI and Mary I
