Geography

When you come to Burnside you will have the opportunity to study Humanities.  Humanities is made up of Geography, History, RE and Citizenship lessons. You will have four lessons every week giving you the chance to study a range of interesting and exiting topics. Two lessons will be Geography and you will have one of both History and   RE (Religious Education).

Humanities gives us the skills and knowledge needed to learn about our lives, our past and how our actions affect the world in which we live.

In Geography you will learn about the world at a local, national and global level and the ways in which people interact with the physical environment. You will also learn important life skills that will help you develop as a person. In year 7 you will study:

• Where do we live?
• Map skills
• Settlement
• Weathering and Geomorphology - Coasts
• Ecosystems and the environment
